The Co-Curriculum: A Tale of Two Transcripts
Tuesday, May 14, 2019 | 2:00 PM EST
Audience:
Student Affairs Professionals such as Student Activities Directors, Career Center Directors, Experiential Learning Directors, and related capacities.
Description:
Student Affairs divisions have long engaged in documenting student participation, involvement, and engagement outside the classroom. Called by various names, Comprehensive Student Records (CSRs) and Co-Curricular Transcripts (CCTs) can mean something different at every campus using them. Some CSRs/CCTs might emphasize student reflection, while others are intended as exact documentation of verified experiences. In the past several years, advances in technology support and the hands-on involvement of faculty, students, and registrars have inspired campuses to re-envision their approach entirely. In this webinar, field expert Anne Lundquist will provide a history of the role of CSRs and CCTs and experienced campus professionals from Western Michigan University and William Paterson University will review how their CSRs/CCTs have evolved over time.
As a result of this training, attendees will be able to:
- Identify 3 or more strategies for long-term implementation of a CCT/CSR.
- Compare 2 models of documenting student experiences onto a record or transcript
- Articulate the growing value of these initiatives
- Define the terms “Co-Curricular Transcript” and “Comprehensive Student Record”
